Protocols

Increase therapy compliance and success rates, by better understanding prescribed treatments.

Setting up product protocols allows you to build common treatment protocols that can be applied as grouped treatments within the data entry screens eg. An ovsync protocol.  The treatment steps will link in with the farm interventions calendar.  The steps to build a protocol are as follows:

  1. Go to practice setup > protocols > add protocol.

  2. Complete the Information requested and select a type of treatment from the drop down list – the protocols will be presented to you under these type headings within the app.
  1. Check box next to Available to Practice Members and/or Available to Practice Clients, as appropriate.
  2. Click Next on the top right to take you to the Protocol Steps tab.

Within the second tab, add Protocol Steps:

  5. Free type or select Withdrawal Periods for 1. Milk (hours) and 2. Meat (days). It is also possible to set Withdrawal Periods and delivery methods  for individual treatments, see Treatment Step pop-up

  6. Click Add Step button to draft each separate step of the treatment protocol.

Within the Treatment Step pop-up window:

  7. Select Treatment from drop-down list. The options to fulfil this step originate from a pre-set list of standard products and services supplied by VetIMPRESS.

  8. Free type or select Timing to lock in exactly when the step is to be performed.

  9. Select either From Start of Treatment or After Last Treatment to further define timing

 10. Set Dose by clicking Dose – assigning Quantity and Unit or by clicking Weight – assigning Quantity.

 11. Select Route, and add Interval and Number of Treatments, as the step needs to be repeated within the same protocol.

 12. Free type or select Withdrawal Periods for 1. Milk (hours) and 2. Meat (days)

 13. Select Delivery Type. Delivery type is the most likely method the treatment or procedure within the step is to be fulfilled. Administered under the guidance of the vet at the start for the treatment. Dispensed by the vet for the fulfilment of future treatments within the protocol. To Be Delivered are treatments prescribed by the vet but yet to be obtained to in order to fulfil the treatment. Other covers everything else including the fulfilment of the treatment with stock the farmer already holds.

 14. Click Save to close the record.

Add further treatment steps by repeating steps 6 – 14, as required.

When all required steps are registered, click finish to complete and store the protocol.
